National in scope, Novatech specializes in industrial analytical instrumentation. Due to sustained growth during the past several years, our team continues to expand. We are currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist.


The new position is under the authority of the Vice-President Operations and located in Sainte-Anne-de Bellevue, QC. This is a national role meaning that the employee will also work with our Calgary project office. The position has the following responsibilities:

  • To identify and deliver service improvement activity across the business through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking;
  • To work with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support the company's progression;
  • To lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions;
  • To support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of waste within business processes and identification of better ways of working;
  • To work with other team members and business services departments to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements;
  • To actively monitor project and business risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance;
  • To complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects;
  • Manage the internal quality system per the ISO9001:2015 standard nationally;
  • Responsible for Overall IT Infrastructure working in tandem with external IT consultant;
  • Manage and review internal IT incidents and manage response times with external IT consultant


Core Competencies

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven continuous improvement experience;
  • Experience with the SO9001:2015 standard and associated quality management system
  • Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts ex: Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping
  • Very comfortable with computers and basic IT infrastructure
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of team members;
  • Proficient in English and French.
